7 degrees

7 degrees. You are seeing that correctly. I have never experienced 7 degrees in my life. I know this is probably annoying for people in Chicago & Canada to read but in my 23 years on this planet…this is a first.

Steve and I went outside last night to scrape off our cars and nearly froze! He said to me “it’ll be better to do this now as opposed to in the morning when its less than 10 degrees outside” I completely agreed with him and we worked hard to clear off both of our vehicles. What we didn’t realize was that what we thought was the end of the storm wasn’t-more snow came later in the night. We woke up at 8am to find both of our cars looking like we hadn’t touched them and then I got called in to work. This little angel boy of mine who was working from home and could have easily never stepped outside all day, put on layers and helped me clean off my car. Correction- HE CLEANED OFF MY CAR WHILE I SAT INSIDE. I literally do not know what I did to deserve this boy but I am thankful for him each and every day.

I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying their cups of hot chocolate today! I am currently brewing a cup of Keurig hot chocolate in a styrofoam cup to enjoy at work.

Toodles.

You know what though.. it’s been colder everywhere this winter. It’s brutal. It was -10 (in celsius) … so that’s 14 degrees F.. I think. (I asked Siri, but immediately forgot the answer.. so I think that’s right.) Anyways.. it was -10 before Christmas when we all went to the Festival of Lights and Rob and I couldn’t believe it. Normally on the island, it doesn’t really reach those lows. THEN we went to Thunder Bay, Ontario for Christmas and it was -45 the day we left, which is…. she said -49 F. (Does that make sense?) Bottom line- it was FREAKIN’ FREEEEEEEEZING out!!!!!!!!
I can’t imagine people do much in that kind of weather. Today, it is -1 C.. and it’s nippy out here.. but the sun is shining, so I am not complaining!! :)
