Sobo Cafe

I love weekends for brunch. I wish restaurants offered brunch in the evening- I would eat breakfast for dinner every night of the week. Steve and I went to Sobo Cafe for brunch yesterday and it was one of the best brunches I’ve ever had.

Decor and ambiance are important factors to me when enjoying a meal at a restaurant. Sobo is an old rowhome converted into a restaurant and the small dining area creates a more intimate experience which I enjoyed. The blackboard behind the bar listed the menu and specials and the walls were covered in local artwork. I was in heaven.

We started brunch enjoying Peach Bellini’s while we browsed the menu. Usually when picking something to eat I lean towards the sugary options but today I wanted something savory as well. Steve and I decided to split The Big Breakfast and a homemade cinnamon roll drizzled in cream cheese icing.

The Big Breakfast was proportioned perfectly so we were both content afterwards and not too full.  We want to check out their dinner menu soon and will be back for brunch part 2 in the near future.

Oh man, I am a huge fan of brunch. You’d think we’d go out for it more often!? But we don’t! So I live through my fellow brunch go-ers. If you ever want to drool over brunches, you should check out Nicole at Not Before My Tea blog. She is a runner living in Chicago that goes out for Sunday brunches every weekend and reports about them.. and those posts always leave me drooling…
