My Go-To Chili

I have been on a chili kick lately because it’s so easy to make in the crockpot, feeds me for about 4 meals, and is delicious. Not to mention it’s warm and hearty on these cold snowy days! And yes I do call it Superbowl Chili even though it’s definitely not Superbowl weekend and I eat it on days that aren’t the Superbowl. When I was growing up my Mom would make a huge pot of SuperBowl chili and invite our friends and family over to watch the game, I guess the name just stuck. These days I make Superbowl Chili every other week and usually pair it with delicious homemade cornbread muffins.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of lean hamburger
  • 2 cans (16oz) of light skinned red kidney beans
  • 2 cans (28 oz) of whole tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2-3 teaspoons of minced onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons of tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder

Crumble ground beef on the bottom of the crock pot. Add the rest of the ingredients making sure to drain all canned ingredients. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours

Top with some shredded cheese or sour cream and enjoy!

    Nice! I make all of the suppers in our household. ( I did not plan that.. it sort of just happened. Bah.) Rob is actually good at making chili. But I like this idea of putting it all in a crock pot and letting it cook all day for when I go back to work! This chili looks super easy to make!
