Taco Soup Recipe


By now you all know how much I love my crockpot, so when my friend Whitney gave me a bowl of taco soup and told me she made it in her crockpot, I was sold! Thanks Whitney for passing along the recipe! I made a few adjustments to her original recipe but the core ingredients are the same and it’s been the perfect meal as the snow continues to fall on us in Baltimore!


  • 1 pound of ground meat, browned
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 10oz package frozen corn
  • 1 16oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 15oz can pinto beans
  • 1 15oz can black beans
  • 1 15oz can dark red skinned kidney beans
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of chicken broth (add more broth to create a soup, or less broth to make a chili. I put in about 2 1/2 cups for a thicker texture.

Combine all ingredients into a crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Serve with cornbread and shredded cheese.

    Does anyone else think it’s kinda cute that Soup is posting a recipe about soup? Hahaha.. You’re pretty adorable. And- this is not a bad idea. Taco soup!!?? It sounds different, but I bet Rob would love it. I’ll give it a go!

      hahahaha I mean that was the goal of this blog initially- to have a ton of soup recipes but I thought that was a kind of limiting lol. Let me know if you make it! You’ll probably need to add more spices than I did since I don’t like a lot of kick but its super good
