My Instagram Memories

Growing up with a Father as a professional photographer and a Mom who loved me very much, we were ALWAYS taking pictures. Every occasion, personal accomplishment, or trip was well documented and placed in a photo album. When I got older my Mom and I started scrapbooking together and it became something I really enjoyed.

Today, I don’t have time to scrapbook for hours on end but I still love documenting memories. Instead putting my photos in a photo album and displaying it proudly on my coffee table, I share the photos on Instagram. I’m obsessed. I look at it more than Facebook and it’s quickly become my favorite form of social media. I wanted to pretend, that you are coming over to my house for drinks and laughter and my photo album happens to be on my coffee table. What would you see if you flipped through it?

Welcome to my Instagram photo album and the memories I’ve created:

^ This is one of the first photos I uploaded on Instagram during the Spring Semester of 2012. “Help a Friend” Conference was an Anti-Suicide event that I planned for one of my classes. I am very passionate about the cause after losing a friend to suicide. My group and I worked so hard to have relevant speakers who were suicide survivors and advocates for the cause. The event was incredibly successful and it was one of the grades I was most proud to receive.

^ Immediately after graduation in May 2012 I started working with Reed Street Products doing Zombie Runs. It’s so hard to think back on that time in my life- it feels like a lifetime ago that I was flying across the country setting up zombie events. This photo was taken on the course at my first race. The property in Minnesota was incredible and this old car was in the middle of the course that runners would be running along.

^ After the whirlwind of my first race, some co-workers decided to head to the Inner Harbor and check out Sailabration. I’m so glad I did because this was the only year the event took place. It was incredible to walk through the harbor, checking out massive ships and doing so within a few blocks of my hew house. This night is a memory that has stayed with me. The people I was with, the relationships we all had together and the warmth of summer.

^ The only thing I really enjoy about flying is the scenery when we are flying low. This was taken on the way to Colorado for a zombie race.

There’s not much in St.Louis besides this REALLY cool Arch. We didn’t have enough time to ride to the top so we stayed on the ground but took some pretty cool photos. This was one of the only locations that we had extra time and were able to sight see which made me VERY happy.

^ Canada was a rough trip for us. The race wasn’t that great of a success, we were struggling with getting used to Canada and not using our phones, and race day was rainy and cold. It was a nice treat to be able to stop and see Niagra Falls after a rough couple of days.

^ My parents let me get my first dog when I was 18 and a senior in college. Marley lived with me while I was finishing up college but he wasn’t able to move to the city with me so I take him every couple of weeks to get my puppy fix and give my parents a break! When my puppy boy is in the city I am the happiest little Mama around.

^ After a busy season of races, my parents and I took a trip to Key West in January 2013. I was sitting in a KW bar watching the Ravens win the championship in shorts and a t-shirt. Life was great and I definitely didn’t want to go back to cold Baltimore after warmth and sunshine with my parents.

^ I had themed parties every other week when I was in high school and loved that my Baltimore friends were up for a little Thrift Shoppin. Every person had a $20 limit and had to wear only what they had picked up from the thrift shop. We listened to Macklemore on repeat and may or may not have gone out to the bars in our outfits….

^ Texas surprised me. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy it as much as I did but this place was FUN. That right there is one of my favorite drinks ever. An Angry Apple Pie is Angry Orchard & Fireball mixed together to create a tasty but dangerous drink!

^ I was working in New Jersey the weekend Hurricane Andrea hit! We set up all day Friday and it never stopped raining once, hell it didn’t even lighten up once. We decided to make the  most out of the rain and jumped in puddles.

^ 4th of July at the beach with my girls last year was amazing. We spent 5 days sunbathing, eating amazing food, consuming lots of drinks and spending much needed girl time together. You wouldn’t know it looking at this picture but this is me really tan. Yikes.

^ This photo was taken on a trip to see my parents in the country AND Steve’s first trip to Delaware. This one goes down in the books as a great weekend on all ends.

^ Ever since moving to Baltimore in 2012, I wanted to go to 34th St and see the Christmas Lights. Unfortunately, I was that year I was traveling for work and didn’t make it but this past December I finally had the chance to go. Steve and I drove to Hampden, got the only parking spot we could see for blocks and walked to check out the view. It was 70 degrees in December- welcome to Maryland folks!

Well I’m sold- I am following you on Instagram as of five seconds ago! I love that picture of Colorado from the plane. There’s just something so cool about the simplicity of a place from the air..
