#FBF Ohio

I’ve talked before about the Index Card Project and how I enjoy looking back in time to see what I was up to on that day a year ago. I feel like I’ve grown so much as a person in the past 2 years since I’ve been in Baltimore and it still surprises me when I wake up and check my Timehop app to see what I was up to two years ago or last year.

So occasionally I might do a #FBF (Flashback Friday) post to what I was doing on or around that day a year ago. For those of you who haven’t known me that long it will be a chance to learn more about what I’ve been up to and for those who lived through this experience with me, it’ll be nice to reflect back.

May 23-25

I was working for Reed Street still and we were traveling the country putting on Zombie 5K Obstacle races. This was an incredible job and experience that I am so grateful for but it was also the hardest year of my life.

This race was no different. You’d think Memorial Day weekend in Ohio would be warm….nope. We were all wearing jeans and hoodies on race day and when I got to site at 3:30am to start prepping for the first wave I was SHOCKED to see frost covering all of my supplies. We figured this was normal and we were caught off guard because we weren’t from Ohio. Nope- our volunteers and runners who were native to the area came completely unprepared and I ended up sharing gloves with a volunteer in my tent. No one was prepared for the cold and it was definitely a race to remember.
