A Day in My Life?

I love when bloggers post about “a day in their life” more than any other post. I find it so interesting to see how others in different cities and stages of life spend their day to day. Bon from The Life of Bon posted a couple weeks ago about her daily schedule and honestly I can’t imagine having a baby and doing what I’m doing, but it got me thinking…what is an average day in my life? Then I realized that there is no such thing!

Having two jobs, trying to make Soup of the Day Blog a legitimate website, catching up with friends and family and kissing that cute faced boy I kinda like takes up a lot of time. If someone asked me to create a timeline of one day with what I do, I wouldn’t be able to do it. My mind is always going and seems like it’s always going a million miles a minute.

When I’m walking through Baltimore to pick up lunch I might stop to take a photo to upload on Yelp Baltimore’s social media later in the week. When I’m contacting local businesses for opportunities with my blog I also mention to them that I work for Yelp. When I’m reading blogs while I eat my breakfast I get ideas for UM. There are so many moving parts but they all work well together. It helps that I love where I am in my life right now and what I’m doing. I’m passionate about each job and venture that I’ve decided to take on and want to do the best I can at each one.

With that said, I think it’s important to slow down and JUST BE sometimes. I struggle with this and had a conversation with Steve about it last week. He wanted to sleep in a little longer and I immediately jumped up and said “I can’t sleep in, I can’t waste the day away when there are so many things that need to be done.” None of the things on my to-do list needed to be done; they were tasks that were on my mind and would have made me feel better to mark off but were not urgent.

I’m trying really hard to carve out time a few nights a week and during at least one weekend day to not focus on work and tasks but to enjoy the city and spending time with the people I love. Whether it’s brewing a pot of coffee and enjoying it on the porch instead of picking up a cup during morning errands or sleeping in a little extra to spend time with the boy.

I’m really happy with how things are going lately and here’s to making them even better.
