The Best Week Ever

This week has been hands down one of the busiest, fastest, toughest, and most rewarding weeks of my life. I knew I was overwhelmed when I had to brush my teeth while brushing my hair while waiting for laundry to finish and the water to boil in the kitchen. I have always been a multitasker to the point that previous roommates have nicknamed me twister, but this week took on a whole new level. My room is a mess, I’ve been doing laundry whenever I could find time and Byrd’s been holding down cleaning duty for a solid four days but it’s been pretty great.

Tuesday was my first event for Yelp that I’ve had such a large role in planning. My boss walked me through some of the steps and secured the location but implementing the theme, coming up with games, finding the prizes, working on the layout and decorations with the business owner and running a lot of the evening was on me. I had the BEST time and it’s moments like this when I know without a doubt that this is what I’m supposed to be doing. A full recap post is coming next week.

Wednesday was my 25th birthday! It was also my first event that I’ve planned with UMB. Seriously, this was a big week! I cannot explain how overwhelmed I was with the outpouring of text messages, facebook posts, phone calls, Instagram comments and in person squeezes. I have never felt more loved by the people in my life. Thank you all! The Earth Day event at work went even better than I expected and just like the Yelp event, a full recap post will be up next week.

Thursday was my first slow day and I still had a full day at work, one appointment and a work dinner for Yelp. Unfortunately there were so many protestors in the city that the city pretty much shut down. I was grateful for a night to get some stuff done though.

^ The bride on the right

This weekend is the wedding of Steve’s best friend and former roommate. I have grown to love Seth and Jenna and consider them two of my close friends now as well. We are heading to their rehearsal dinner tonight and then the wedding is tomorrow! I can’t wait to get together with some of our closest friends, dance, eat good food, and celebrate two people who could not be more in love!

Thanks for putting up with my radio silence this week but expect some fun recap posts next week!
