Real Talk Monday

I think I’m going to start the week with some real talk on this little blog of mine. You see I’ve been struggling with blogging for a few weeks now. It’s weird. The pressure to blog 4-5 times a week is real and sometimes the return is not so great. I feel like I’m forcing content that I’m not super happy with and the clicks are few and far between.

For example, I love Slow Cooker Monday’s and I know a few people who follow specifically for those posts. However, I am burning myself out on them and I should have known that it would happen eventually. I’ve been rushing to make recipes, type up the posts and get them scheduled for each and every Monday for the past four months. I’ve given up time with family and friends just to get something started in the crock pot…that’s crazy!

I’ve always been a busy bee and a multi-tasker. I’ll have four different things going in the kitchen while doing laundry and waiting for my hair to dry. My drive to stay busy isn’t just in my personal life though. I have a full time job, a part-time job that can take up to 30 hours a week, this blog, a committee within Federal Hill and a real life. I’ve always said that the minute something stopped being fun, I was done with it. I don’t want to be done with blogging, but I do recognize that it is time to scale back a little bit.

I will only post a SCM recipe when I have the time. I will probably only be posting 3 times a week but the content will be strong, not weak. I’m not going anywhere, but sometimes you need to reevaluate what you’re doing and get yourself back on track. So this is me doing that and I hope you’ll stick around.

I agree with this totally! It’s better to post less and have better, more intentional content than to have a week full of half-hearted posts! Good for you!
