Fall Bucket List

Happy first day of Fall! This is the one season that makes my heart go pitter patter. There is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING, I love more than brisk fall mornings, the sound of leaves crunching under my boots, Halloween themed EVERYTHING, and cinnamon mocha lattes to get my day started. Also, pumpkin dip. Alll of the pumpkin dip will be consumed over the next three months.

I present to you, The Ultimate Fall Bucket List:

Go pumpkin picking- I grew up visiting Mr. Pepper’s Pumpkin Patch every year as a kid and picking out the prettiest pumpkin I could find. As an adult I still want to visit a pumpkin patch and pick my own pumpkin instead of grabbing one at Teeter next time I’m grocery shopping. Last year I went to a festival at a local patch. It was awesome!

Eat an apple cider donut- My love for donuts is real. This was a given when thinking about fall.

Decorate for Halloween- When Byrd and I moved in together in January she kiiiiiinda made fun of my extensive collection of seasonal decorations but she’s gonna love me when our house is decked out for Halloween. I have some of the best decorations and Halloween is my favorite holiday so get ready ya’ll.

Visit the Maryland State Fair- I have never been to the Maryland State Fair and after reading the Baltimore Magazine article about their tasty treats I am officially adding “eat a deep fried Berger Cookie” to the list. I may die afterwards, but at least I’ll die happy.

Make an apple pie- Last Thanksgiving was my first attempt at apple pie. I cheated a little and used pre-made crust so my goal for this year is to make an apple pie from scratch. At the very least my house will smell amazing in the process!

Make Halloween cookies for friends and co-workers- I haven’t made decorated sugar cookies in soooo long. I’m blaming my super small kitchen on my lack of desire to do so, but now that we have a real kitchen table I can bake to my hearts content.

Have a scary movie marathon- I have one rule for watching scary movies- someone is spooning me afterwards. Let’s figure that out before the marathon commences please!

Decorate a pumpkin- I am not a huge fan of the carving process and prefer to decorate my pumpkin in some other way. I want to get creative with it this year and a DIY blog post might transpire from it.

Drink hot apple cider- It’s not fall until I’ve had some hot cider on a chilly day! Bonus points if I’m wearing a flannel button down.

Can I come live with you for fall? I want to pumpkin pick, decorate, drink all the hop apple cider and decorate some more.

BTW- y’all missed the fair this year. It’s the “10 best days of summer” so it ends on Labor day :( Can we have a blate there next year?

All of this sounds amazing and makes me miss the Northeast so much! We definitely don’t have pumpkin patches in SC haha! I am hoping to find a place with cider donuts – they’re my favorite ever!
