Looking back at 2015

I can’t believe that 2015 is almost over. I know they say that time speeds up as you get older but this is ridiculous. I’ve been in Baltimore for almost four years. How is that even possible?!

This year has been one of the greatest. Not only of my time spent in Charm City but of my life. I feel like I finally got into the rhythm of being an adult and although “adulting” is hard sometimes, it’s so much fun! This year I was able to go on a few trips, I ended a relationship, I learned a lot about myself and grew a lot, I met some new people and opened myself up to new experiences, I grew within my career, I strengthened the bond with family and friends and I started a new relationship. Life was good to me in 2015.

I wouldn’t be a real blogger if I didn’t do a 2015 recap post. I hope you’re excited to take a trip down memory lane with me.

I met Cal Ripken in January and it was the coolest and most surreal moment. I also moved into a new house with my best friend but I know Byrd will totally understand when I say that Cal was the best thing that happened in January.

Traveling to Miami while a winter storm hit Baltimore was one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made. I fell in love with Wynwood and want to go back as soon as possible.

In March Byrd and I held a house warming party and it was one for the books. Our DIY photo backdrop was a hit and we were finding furry mustaches around the house for weeks afterwards.

My 25th birthday was overshadowed by the heartache that the city I love was going through. The days after Freddie Gray’s death were scary, heart wrenching and emotional. I hope in 2016 we can continue to learn to love each other and move past everything.

After almost two years I became single. I needed the time to myself to grow and straighten a few things out. I feel like I am a better person today because of it. Becoming single also allowed me to focus on my friendships and put myself out there more. I tore up the dance floor at Rockwell with Byrd a few times this month.

Beach time was a must this summer and one of my oldest friends kindly hosted me three weekends in June so I could get away from the city and relax.

A brand new job can be overwhelming especially when its with a company you admire and have been following for two years. I sat in my car and cried after my first day on the job. Dreams really do come true.

I celebrated one year with Yelp Baltimore in August and sadly put in my letter of resignation just a few weeks later. I loved working with Yelp and am so proud of the events I helped produce over my year with the company.

I started Aerial Silks in September and fell in love with it as a form of exercise. Unfortunately one month later I tweaked my knee and have had to put my silks days on hold until the knee is healed. I am itching to get back!

I never officially introduced Chris but I did start hinting at his existence and included some photos in the Halloween post. Fall 2015 was the best. I worked two huge events and still had time to stop and munch on an apple cider doughnut.

My first trip to Atlanta was for Thanksgiving this year! It was so great to spend some time with my family and explore a new city together.

The holiday season is my favorite for so many reasons. This year I was just happy to spend the holidays with my family and the man that I care about. It doesn’t get much better than that.

So much happened this year and I really feel like I’m growing into the adult version of myself. It’s scary but so exciting at the same time! I know I say this every year but 2015 may have been my favorite year yet. You’ve got big shoes to fill 2016!
