101 in 1001 Days Link Up

to travel and beyond

I love lists. Like I love them more than most people and always have. I feel like nothing holds me accountable like a page of tasks just waiting to be crossed off. To this day I still can’t pack for a trip (even just overnight) without writing everything down. I always forget something if I don’t!

In an attempt to push myself towards new experiences I created a 101 Things To Do in 1001 Days bucket list. Check it out HERE. Currently I have only about seven months to cross off the items that are still sitting there. Being realistic, I know that won’t happen especially because some of them involve traveling outside of the US and unless I get an unlimited amount of money and vacation days, that’s just not in the cards for 2016. But I’m ok with that, my life has changed so much since I initially drafted the items and some things aren’t really relevant anymore.  That’s ok by me.

Since I last checked in I’ve been able to cross a few items off and I’m already looking forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to do even more!

#7. Make my Halloween costume

 IMG_6491

For Halloween last year I went as Penguin from Batman. Yes, the Danny Devito penguin. My brother and I grew up watching all of the Batman movies and the older ones are by far my favorite. Michelle Pfeiffer was such a scary Catwoman when you’re eight years old. So I did my best to recreate a steampunk/girly Penguin from Batman. I even had a monocle that my Dad made out of Where’s Waldo glasses. It was awesome.

#16. Go on a girls trip

#GirlsinGreenJackets was by far one of the best days from 2016 so far. I love the Baltimore Blogger Babes more than anything and we had such a great day together in the Big Apple. I feel like you learn a lot about people while traveling and one thing we learned was that we all just fit together so perfectly.

#23. Use Airbnb Again

 IMG_8139

Chris and I used Airbnb in New Orleans, DC and Atlanta since I first tried their service in February 2015. 2/3 were great (New Orleans and Atlanta) and DC wasn’t bad. I still love the service but thanks to Macy I have a new appreciation for a hotel as well. We’re still picking and choosing when we use Airbnb but for now it’s fun to have as a second option when traveling.

#53. Interview someone for the blog

When I wrote this on the list I didn’t know if that meant interviewing my parents, co-worker or Mayor of Baltimore and I was open to anything really. I’ve been enjoying the Cream City Creatives series (you can read my posts HERE and HERE) and am looking forward to new posts popping up throughout the year.

#100. Make a fun treat for every holiday

I recapped this item on the blog already, which you can read HERE but my goal is to do it again although I’ve missed a few this year. I’ll start for Memorial Day!

Do you have a 101 Things in 1001 Days list?

You did some really fun things! I am the same way with lists…I printed mine out after the first update and it’s helped me stay on top of things. I just wrote out my list for vacation this weekend too…haha!

Your Halloween costume is awesome! And I must say, I based my Mother’s Day trip to NYC on the #GirlsinGreenJackets trip lol!

We are so similar it is crazy. I always have to make a list for overnight trips as well, then I have about 8 pages of lists for anything more than overnight 😉 Your halloween costume was perfect! It’s great that you can realize that life changes and somethings are just not possible- yet you have still succeeding in so many ways.

You had some great ones! I LOVED your costume! I can’t believe that you made that yourself! Putting together Halloween costumes are so fun! Our girls trip was amazing…I had a blast! (: I love your baking creations. I don’t enjoy baking or cooking so I really appreciate when other people do! Great list!
