The Perfect Weekend

If I had to dream up a perfect weekend it would involve family, friends, my favorite guy and lots of time outdoors, relaxing and trying something new. This weekend was close to a perfect weekend.

I took Friday off from work and drove to Berlin to spend the night with Chels and her fiancé. I’ve talked about my visits to Berlin HERE and HERE. It really is the cutest little town and I look forward to my time there. We spent some time at the beach where the water was SO WARM, indulged in acai bowls (my first one ever!), walked through town for the Berlin Art Walk and ended the night with a bonfire.

It was so good to see them and catch up on life. They’re getting married at the Atlantic Hotel (where Richard Gere’s character stayed in Runaway Bride) in September and I can’t wait to be back for another stay.

Saturday I said bye to Chels and Zack and hit the road for my parents house. They live around 45 minutes away from Berlin, MD in Delaware and I was there quickly because traffic wasn’t too bad in the morning. I spent the day making a delicious dairy free recipe which will be up soon, snuggling my Mama and puppy, enjoyed a dinner out with my parents and ended the evening listening to live music in the next town over.

My visits in the summer are always cut short because I do not want to get caught in beach traffic so I woke up and headed back to Baltimore at 7am on Sunday. I wish I could have had more time with my folks but I’ll be back to see them in two weeks!

Once I got back to the city Chris and I met up with some of our favorite people and went tubing at Gunpowder Falls State Park. I’ve never been tubing and was nervous but knowing that I was with a group of pros definitely helped. We spent three hours floating down the river listening to music, enjoying a few beverages and catching up.

I only have one photo because I didn’t want to risk taking my phone even though we had Ziploc bags for them. Good thing I didn’t because the ziplocs took on a lot of water and my three year old iphone would never have survived!

It truly was a great weekend and I needed the fun and relaxation for the INSANELY busy week upon me.

I was so busy and didn’t want to upload a super long video showing you everything I did so here is a highlight reel of some of my favorite moments during the weekend:

How was your weekend? Can you believe we are already in the second week of July?!

Omg! Tubing in Monkton and you went down at the second entrance?! We did that on Saturday!! We have went for 4 years in a row now, it’s so ironic that we picked the same weekend! It really looks like you had such a great time and you were able to visit with so many friends and your parents. The part of the vlog where Mar runs to you is the BEST!
