SOTD Eats: Veggemo Smoothies

Vegetable milk….what in the world is vegetable milk?

A friend of mine recommended I try Veggemo (vegetable based and non-dairy) and I have to admit I was apprehensive. Being dairy free isn’t easy and although there are many alternatives, they aren’t milk. It’s hard to replicate the taste of something when the modified version is missing all of the ingredients that make it good.

But I gave Veggemo a try and it was good! There are three versions- original, vanilla and unsweetened. I went for the original hoping that I could cook and bake with it but it’s sweeter than I anticipated. I used it to make my favorite peanut butter and banana protein smoothie.

Veggemo is classified as a fortified pea, tapioca and potato beverage. It’s lactose free, gluten free, soy free, GMO free, cholesterol free, Vegan and Kosher. The veggies improve health and assist in avoiding heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and Type 2 Diabetes. The ingredients are dairy free and free of most common allergens, making Veggemo perfect for people with lactose intolerance, allergies or food sensitivities.

This recipe is delicious, healthy and protein packed! P.S. you can buy Veggemo HERE!
