Thanksgiving Take 1

Happy Monday everyone! It’s been a WHILE since I’ve done a weekend recap and after such a good weekend with the ones I loved… I think I have to!

I had off from work on Friday as flex time from the last few events I produced in October and November. I slept in, enjoyed my coffee while sitting at my desk prepping my blog posts, went for a run, got the rest of my belongings out of the Fleet Street house and got ready for the bartending gig that I had that evening.

My co-workers and I were all working an event at the AVAM benefitting the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance. I especially love this organization since we work closely with them for some of our events. I had such a great time pouring wine and beer and chatting with the attendees. Part of the fun is meeting people!

Saturday Chris and I woke up early and hit the road for Philadelphia! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to see my brother for Thanksgiving or Christmas so he flew into Philadelphia for an early Thanksgiving. My brother (who is six years older than me) is my half brother as we have different mom’s. But his Mom has always been a part of the family and comes to every holiday so it was fitting to meet up at her new home in Philadelphia. It’s gorgeous and we were so excited to spend time with the family.

Since my family loves Italian food and we will be eating plenty of stuffing and traditional dishes this week, we had an Italian Thanksgiving! Complete with lasagna, meatballs, and garlic knots. I was in heaven. To end the evening we enjoyed dessert together before heading back to Baltimore.

Sunday went by in a blur. Chris and I really wanted to get a few little jobs done around the house before my parents get here on Wednesday. We hung up my jewelry organizer, artwork, completed our gallery wall and a few other odd jobs. It feels good to have the place almost in working order. We picked out some art to put up on the last few bare walls and can’t wait for it to get here! As pieces are slowly finished I’ll be able to share them on the blog which I’m also looking forward to!

I hope you all had a great weekend and a great week ahead. I am going to take a break from blogging in the later half of the week to enjoy the time with my family.

What a fun weekend. It is amazing that your family includes your brother’s mom in holidays, that goes to show how amazing, kind and loving your parents are. I can’t wait to see your house! The photos and snaps look beautiful.
