A moment to reflect

This time last year Chris and I were exploring the great city of New Orleans. It was our first trip together in our new (four months!) relationship. Not only were we going on our first trip together but we were roadtripping 15 hours in one of the worst snowstorms in recent history to get to our mini vacation destination. Yeah…recipe for disaster!

But it was great!

We got stuck in the snow.

But it was great!

We pulled into a gas station with only 2 miles worth of gas left.

But it was great!

We arrived in New Orleans and it wasn’t snowing anymore, but torrentially raining.

But it was great!

I had a low blood sugar hangry moment in Jacksons Square that I just KNEW we’d never come back from.

But it was great!

Really though, it was an incredible trip. We learned a lot about each other and ourselves and in the end, we only grew closer. I remember looking at him from across the table and knew then that we’d be just fine. Since NOLA we’ve road-tripped at least six times and it feels so normal to hop in the car with this guy by my side and hit the road for another adventure.

It’s funny to think back on how different things were back then and how great they’ve become.

New Orleans really is an amazing city!!! We live only 4 hours from there and to be honest the whole state of Louisiana is pretty amazing.

We loved it and want to go back immediately! So many things on our list to do and we didn’t have nearly enough time there!

Angelo and I went on a road trip too in the beginning of our relationship! 2 months of dating and we headed to savannah for my birthday. we stayed in a crappy motel 10 minutes out of the city, didn’t pack sweaters because we were convinced it would be warm and had an excellent time. Travelling with him has taught me to just go with the flow haha.

Exactly! I haven’t learned to go with the flow because that’s what Chris wants 100% of the time but I’ve learned to let go of the rigid travel schedule and just pick a few things we want to do and make loose plans. Its definitely been a learning experience but we are so good at it now 😉

Through all of the mishaps, trips that don’t sink up perfectly are really good for a relationship. We have learned that many times now. You learn so much about someone when you travel with them, and even more when you figure out your grove on how to make it through together. love you guys!

YES! Now when we travel its like we fall into the routine and its amazing!

I love how when you travel when someone you adore, the mishaps don’t even matter. It’s so fun to reflect on past trips and how they mark a special time in your life. Love it!
