Week 6: Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate Fondue

Valentine’s day is Monday! Whether you celebrate by going out to a fancy dinner or eating at home, there’s always room for dessert! 

Before my parents gifted Chris’ and I with our own fondue pot, I melted chocolate in my crockpot whenever I wanted it! Its super quick and only takes an hour on low to melt into the perfect rich chocolate for dipping. I like to dip pretzels, strawberries, marshmallows and mini donuts in mine but you can also do bananas, pound cake and graham crackers. Anything that would be delicious covered in chocolate!

Happy Valentine’s Day! 



  • 12 ounces quality semisweet chocolate chips or coarsely chopped bakers chocolate
  • 4 ounces quality bittersweet chocolate chips or coarsely chopped bakers chocolate
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


  1. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on low for 1 hour
  2. Fondue is done when everything is melted when whisking

    I do this ALL the time! I just use dairy free chocolate chips and melt them…and it’s the perfect chocolately treat. I love dipping fruit like apples, berries, and pineapple! I need to get some gluten-free mini donuts cause that just blew my mind!

    What a fun idea! we love our fondue pot but sometimes I just don’t feel like getting it out and cleaning all of the parts.
