Happy Valentine’s Day friends! I love this day so much and I hope you all feel extra special today!
I started the Valentine’s Day celebrations a little early this year with two events on Saturday that revolved around love.
The day started with the Society of Excellent Women’s February Meet-Up in the Clipper Mill area. Have you heard of them? This is taken from their Facebook page:
From a cloudy day brainstorm, the Society of Excellent Women was formed. One of the tricky parts of being an adult (and whoa, there are many) is making new friends. How often are you out when you recognize someone – that girl with the cute dog you follow on Instagram – or just admire someone – like that girl with the awesome hair color and killer shoes? You want to say something, but you don’t because hey, meeting new people can be mega intimidating. We’re with you! We started the Society of Excellent Women as a way to bring awesome ladies together to forge new friendships. This isn’t about networking, increasing your likes or promoting yourself – it’s about getting to know all the awesome women in our community, and beyond!
The location alone was amazing. I’m already obsessed with the area and all of the warehouses that have been revamped into restaurants and shops. So I wasn’t surprised when the drive to the event turned into a scenic route around warehouses and amazing murals.
The meet-up was so fun and I’m so excited for my friends Rosemary and Brittany and the network they are building of strong, power, girl bosses! The vendors present had awesome goods to purchase, there was a Galentine’s Day Card making station, cotton candy, boozy drinks and a fabric dying workshop. Add in some of my favorite ladies in Baltimore and it was the perfect start to the day.
Later that night some of the same friends and some new ones + our guys went to the Creative Alliance Tassels and Champagne Show. The Creative Alliance is a community based non-profit organization that presents and promotes all genres of art. They put on shows and have a rotating gallery within the building. I had no idea what to expect from the burlesque show since the only other show I’ve seen was in Paris and pretty risque! The show was beautiful and I loved that they featured women of all shapes and sizes.
