What Breed Fits You Best?

Chris and I have started talking about adding a new addition to the Camillo household. When we moved into the new house in November we realized how much space we have and for the first time in a while, are both in a good place to provide for a baby.  A sweet…cuddly…snuggly…slobbery…four-legged baby that is.  Human babies will have to wait because I just want to squish my face into the fur of a puppy!

We initially discussed getting a dog this Spring because Mar would be living with us full time but after his setback last month we are waiting to see how things progress before making any big decisions. There are other factors that we still need to look into: the financial responsibility of having a dog, updating our lease to accommodate a dog, picking a good time when our jobs aren’t as busy and we can spend time training the puppy, purchasing vs adopting, etc.

But in the meantime, it’s still really fun to look at different breeds to find a good match for our lifestyle. PuppySpot reached out with a really fun new flowchart that helps you determine which type of dog is best for you.

There was one question that I could go either way on the response so I did both just to see. One response led me to Loyal- Shih Tzu and the other led me to The Active Socialite- Labrador Retriever. I found this interesting because Marley is a Shih Tzu and the other breed we keep coming back to is a Labradoodle.

Picking the right dog for your lifestyle is so important for both you and the dog! Making sure that you can provide the time, energy and care for your new best friend ensures a lifetime of happiness for both of you!

Chris and I are still weighing all of our options and have plenty of time to research and make the best decision for us, but in the meantime I can’t stop looking at baby Shih Tzu’s….

we adopted our dog from the spca and we couldn’t be happier! It’s funny, I wanted a moderately active dog that didn’t shed much and got a super hairy ball of energy 😉 we love him to death though.

We have a mini-dachshund and she is the best pup for us. She is 13 years old and totally old and cranky but we love her dearly.

Love it! I definitely think it’s important to figure out the best dog that suits your lifestyle…but honestly, any pup that needs a home in a shelter is the pup for me! <3
