Family + Art Walks + Brunching

Happy Monday friends! My event season kicks off this Friday so I spent the weekend soaking up time with family and friends and couldn’t have asked for a more full and loving weekend. Because of that, a weekend recap is happening today!

Friday afternoon my parents drove around to Baltimore with Marley in tow. They came to our house and met up with Chris, myself and Chris’ parents to go grab dinner and spend the evening enjoying each others company. The Mama’s presented us with The Knot’s wedding planning binder which is filled with planning tips and ways to stay organized! I can’t wait to dig into it!

The six of us enjoyed a dinner at Cardinal Tavern to celebrate my belated birthday and to also celebrate our engagement. It was so special to have everyone together at once. My parents drove back to DE on Friday night to prepare for a big day on Saturday…

Saturday morning I woke up early and drove to the airport to pick up my cousin David. He flew in from Charlotte to spend the weekend with us, to visit his twin brother and his fiance, to see our Uncle who also just got engaged and also to go to Delaware with me on Saturday.

There was an estate sale happening at my Great Grandmothers house and all of her furniture, farm equipment and some kitchenware were going up for auction. It was a super emotional day that caught me off guard but we were able to reminisce about my Great Grandmother and my Grandmother (her daughter) for most of the day.

My Dad and I went in together for this ice chest that belonged to my Great Grandmother. We are going to make it into a Father-Daughter project to fix it up and once Chris and I buy our own home instead of rent, we will take it. I can’t wait to have such a cool piece from my family in our future home.

We enjoyed dinner with my parents in the small town I grew up in before driving back to Baltimore. We met up with Chris and went out to celebrate a friends birthday.

Sunday AM I woke up and met up with my cousin Michael and his fiance. We went on a tour of a SMALL portion of Baltimore murals led by honeygrow, TheBmoreCreatives, and Michael Owen Art. I didn’t know what to expect and as someone who has seen most of the murals in Baltimore I didn’t know whether I’d see anything new or not. I was so happy to find new artwork as well as revisit and learn more about a few of my favorites. If you want to read more about the tour check out The Baltimore Sun article HERE

After the walk we met up with Chris and my cousin David and went to Fells Point for brunch. Our Uncle and his new fiance met up with us as well and we all laughed and caught up over Mexican food brunch which might be my favorite kind. We wandered through Fells Point and I gave them a tour of the new Sagamore Pendry Hotel before we grabbed a cup of gelato (sorbet for me) and headed home.

It was a GREAT weekend with my family that I don’t get to see often and a weekend filled with an overwhelming amount of love. I’m going to hold onto that love really tight as I go into the busiest month this year. Send me some good vibes ya’ll.
