Loving Lately: Fitness Edition

The fitness journey is still going and we are crushing it if I do say so myself. I did three sets of 15 of leg presses at 100 pounds this week and then kicked some major booty at the gym on Saturday at 6:45am. If you told me three months ago that I’d be waking up at 6am on a Saturday to go to the gym I would have laughed at you, but here we are.

I attribute my enjoyment of this process to a few items that I’m Loving Lately. Check ’em out!

I’m on the search for a new pair of sneakers and definitely want some cross trainers since I’ll be in the gym more than not. However, my Under Armour sneakers have lasted me five years and are still holding up pretty well! How crazy is that? While UA is definitely near the top of the price spectrum it’s proof that their products are definitely top quality!

Old Navy workout gear (socks, pants, tops, hoodies)

Who knew that Old Navy was killing the workout gear game? I went into the store thinking I’d snag a few pairs of pants for cheap to get me by until I could invest in nicer options. The three pairs of leggings from Old Navy are the ones I wear on repeat. They feel thick and high quality for the low price of $15-$20 per pair. I also picked up some breathable and light weight tank tops for $7, light weight hoodies for $20 and socks for $3. I feel a little crazy about my love for these socks but they actually hug the arch of my foot and don’t slip down in the back while I’m working out. With online sales and in-store sales happening separately and simultaneously I’ve never paid full price for any of my gear. It’s amazing.

Camelbak Water Bottle

I’ve had a Camelbak Water Bottle for years and actually had the backpack version when I worked for the zombie race and was on site most of the time doing physical activity. I’m a clutz and can’t tell you how many times I’ve spilled water on my desk so the bite valve is clutch. I love mine the one I have at work so much that I bought another one for my house and gym time. I like that I can hook my finger around the loop at the top and can carry around  a towel or my phone without feeling like I’m carrying a million things.

Garmin VivoSmart Band

I’m an exercise tracker junky. I’ve had three versions of Fitbits and couldn’t get on board with them. While the app was super user friendly, each device I owned broke within a year of purchasing it.

I switched to Garmin devices last year and can confidently say that I won’t be going back. About three months ago I started toying with the idea of getting an iWatch. After reading reviews I learned that the Garmin VivoSmart2 is comparable for the things I cared the most about and significantly cheaper. I actually bought mine refurbished for $50 and it’s worked perfectly.

I did have to turn off notifications because it got annoying, but other than that I love it.

Foam Roller

You can read all about my love for the foam roller HERE. They range in prices significantly and although you can get them cheaper online, I really wanted to feel the roller and know what I was getting so I purchased mine from Target. THIS is the one we have.

What are your favorite fitness items? What do I need to check out?

I am all about UA products, they really do last and for the cost it makes it worth it.

While I love UA for most things, I prefer Nike tennis shoes. I have always found really great deals at the store/outlet in Arundel mIlls mall. I have a pair of black and white ones that I even wear to weddings before the ceremony. Old Navy workout clothes really are the best!

I JUST got a new pair of sneakers last night and they are Nike Cross Trainers :) I wore them at the gym this morning, they were so light and gripped the floor really well. I’m sold on them!

I love Old Navy workout gear. It’s the best. I worked for Old Navy for a few years and I always used my discount on workout gear. It’s so affordable and quality stuff too!
