5 Years in Baltimore + GIVEAWAY

Five years ago today was my first day as a resident of Baltimore. I had just graduated from college (Salisbury University) and moved to Baltimore to pursue my dream of being an event planner. To say I was nervous and a little scared would be an understatement.

But I quickly fell in love with the city and immersed myself in the culture and every activity that I could do and experience. I’m proud to say that my Baltimore Bucket List is filled with crossed off items.

I’ve gone to the top of the Bromo Seltzer Tower and watched the Monument Holiday lighting in Mt.Vernon

I’ve gone to HonFest and followed the crowd through the city  at the Kinetic Sculpture Race

I’ve watched the sunset over the city from a rooftop deck and sat on a median eating Sam’s Bagels while watching The Grand Prix

I’ve celebrated on Cross Street after a Ravens Superbowl win and learned how to grow vegetables on a cement parking pad

I’ve seen the National Guard on every corner of my city and I’ve seen a person hunched over crying in front of the Freddie Gray mural and memorial

I’ve sipped a cocktail at Woody’s enjoying the cool summer breeze and I’ve watched the snow fall on Baltimore at the top of Federal Hill.

I remember my first weekend in the city was Sailabration 2012. I walked through the Inner Harbor amazed at the tall ships, large groups of people, sailors in their uniforms and the most beautiful firework display I had ever seen. Four years later I served on the team that planned Fleet Week 2016 and was honored to create the same experience that had made me so grateful to be in Baltimore just a few years prior.

I hope I was able to give back to the community that has impacted me so profoundly if even in a minor way. Because the last five years in Baltimore have changed me for the better. It has opened my eyes to new experiences, cultures, flavors and has encouraged personal growth within me.

As a thank you to everyone who has joined me on this journey I’ve got a giveaway filled with some of my favorite Baltimore goodies!
