Bye August, Hello September

monthly recap

Happy September friends! This month marks the beginning of Fall, the start of wedding season for us, and 365 days until our wedding! I can’t wait to see what fun will be had this month. But we can’t jump right into September without remembering everything that happened in August!

August was a hard month for me. There was a lot of good that happened this month but also some bad. Our friend Pete had a horrible accident, our home was broken into while we slept upstairs and a college friend passed away unexpectedly. They say bad things happen in three’s so I’m hoping that’s it for a while.

Mar came to town

We love when Mar comes to stay with us and it’s been really fun watching the two pups get to know each other. This was the turning point in their friendship and I loved that they were snuggling together!

Cannoli on tv

I had an in studio interview with Fox 45 for our Yappy Hour event series and had no visuals to bring with me since it was a last minute addition. I asked if Cannoli could be my visual and they agreed! He was so good and sat on my lap the entire time.

Delaware Trip

The visit home with Katie and Jay was so much fun! I anticipate it will become a regular thing.

Pete’s Accident

I didn’t share this previously but in August one of our best friends sustained a very serious injury that required a two week stay at University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma center, four surgeries and another week at a different hospital. His recovery has gone better than expected and we are incredibly thankful that he is doing as well as he is. The experience has reminded us that every day is a blessing and we are focused on loving our friends and family hard.

Summer Programming Ends

As the summer is coming to an end so is our summer programming at WPB! The Summer Social Series and Yappy Hours ended in August. Waterfront Wellness and Harbor Market continue into September before finishing up for the season. But that doesn’t mean my busy season is ending- my two biggest events are in October!

It’s not summertime until we’ve gone tubing! We almost missed our chance this year but I’m glad we were able to find a day that worked for everyone to hit the water!

Bachelorette Weekend

My first bachelorette weekend and it was a good one! We experienced Atlantic City in it’s truest form and made a ton of memories.

Cirque du Soleil

I was able to secure tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s Baltimore show through work and the show was amazing! It was my first time seeing a Cirque performance and I’m hooked now. I looked up all the shows they are currently producing and made a wish list.

Cannoli takes Bmore

Two weekends ago we took Cannoli to the Inner Harbor after realizing he had never been! Since he is such a good walker we were able to take him around the harbor to an event at Rash Field. He loved being out and about and you could see the wheels turning in his head as he looked around at all the people and the water.

Hair cut

Cannoli got a hair cut! We wanted to try a puppy cut so when we got a great recommendation to a groomer in Hampden I made an appointment. He made friends while he was there and we love the cut. Although I do miss the crazy hairs on his face so we might grow those back out but he looks so good and TINY!

How was your August?
