3 Events Before Noon

September 16th has been on my calendar for a few months as “the really busy day in September”. It’s very rare that I have more than one event in a single day. In fact, this is only the second day in over two years that it’s happened but this is the first year that I had someone to help me!

We hired a new Event Coordinator to work with me on our events and I was incredibly grateful to have him on Saturday! We had three events all before noon! Not all three were our events and produced by Waterfront Partnership. We offer a service to outside event producers to pull all of their permits, coordinate the park rental and serve as the point of contact for all city agencies. So, while we weren’t producing two of the events, we needed to be present and make sure all was well!

I decided to do A Day in the Life of an Event Planner for this blog post topic but really it’s A Day in the Life of an Event Planner Before Noon.

6:00 a.m.

Wake up, get ready, grab breakfast, walk the dogs. All the things that are necessary to leave the house looking like a competent human being. Chris was out of town all weekend for work so he was also getting ready at the same time and preparing to leave.

7:30 a.m.

Arrive at Michele’s Granola event at Pierce’s Park. My company owns Pierce’s Park and built it. We are very selective about the events that are held here and were thrilled to have Michele’s Granola back for the second year for their Free Community Breakfast and Yoga event

8:00 a.m.

Walked over to our Waterfront Wellness class at West Shore Park and spotted a heron on the way over! Our new event coordinator was working this while I was at the granola event but I had to pop over to do an interview.

9:00 a.m.

Back at Michele’s Granola until the event ended at 9:30!

9:30 a.m.

Office time! Since I wasn’t heading to the third event until closer to 10:30 I went to our office in Harbor East to soak up some air conditioning and get some stuff done so Monday is a little less crazy.

10:30 a.m.

Brunch Fest time! We work with Trigger Agency on all of their Inner Harbor events and were happy to assist with their newest one, Brunch Fest. Seriously, it’s like they knew what makes my heart sing and made an entire event around it. It’s my new favorite event and would be yours too if you were able to enjoy crepes, bagels, hashbrowns, muffins, candied bacon and sausage on a gorgeous Saturday. They had a mimosa bar, bloody mary bar and select beer and wine for folks who wanted to start a little early.

11:30 a.m.

We called it a day and I went home to the pups. I was worn out and it wasn’t even noon!

I love working in the world of events and with every new event comes more inspiration. I’m lucky to do something I love!
