I’m thankful for Octobers

As the Anne of Green Gables saying goes:

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers”

I can’t say it enough. The crisp air, crunch of leaves under my boots, Fall flavors and Halloween fun makes October hands down one of my favorite months of the year. It’s also the busiest for me so I try really hard to handle all of my obligations but still take time to enjoy the season.

We got a dress! Mama, Emilie (Chris’ Mom), and Katie (my MOH) and I spent a day trying on gorgeous dresses and picked one from Amanda Ritchey! I feel so beautiful in it and can’t wait until Chris can finally see it!

Visits with Mama! So many of them! Between two days of dress shopping, swapping the pups and a quick weekend trip I saw my Mama so much this month and I loved every second of it!

The Blogger Babes + Boys (minus Laura and Mike) got together for dinner at Five and Dime Ale House in Hampden. It was great to catch up as a group but we missed Laura and Mike so much! We also found out that sweet angel baby Volpe will be joining us in May and we couldn’t be more excited!

Chris and I had a meeting with our wedding photographer at R. House. It was Chris’ first time meeting Naomi of Urban Row Photography and both of our first time at R. House. I had the BEST cocktail which might be replicated for our wedding because it was THAT. STINKIN. GOOD.  We also set a date for our engagement pictures to be taken the first of November!

Oh my gosh. The two busiest events of the year in the same weekend. Read the recap HERE.

Mary’s visit to Baltimore to run the marathon was a good one! Chris and I enjoyed trekking across the city following and supporting her as she ran 26.2 miles (still so crazy!).

We spent the last full weekend in October in Charleston for my co-worker and friend Lauren’s wedding. It was a much needed trip out of Baltimore for Chris and I and we really enjoyed celebrating Lauren and Chad!

Halloween with the pups didn’t go exactly as planned. We were rushed, didn’t have their costumes ready and were overwhelmed having just gotten back from Charleston and were starting to pack to leave two days later for a Charlottesville wedding. So we handed out some candy and then ordered Chinese food and watched Stranger Things. For not going exactly as we planned it ended perfectly.

How was your October?

October is my favourite too! While I live in New Zealand and it’s spring, I just spent 2 weeks in America and absolutely loved all these things – the leaves, the chill, the pumpkins, Halloween! Such a great month!
